PAW per view

“We saw a few weeks ago that PAW Patrol, a cartoon show about cops, was canceled,” said Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany last week.

Truth be told, PAW Patrol was never canceled and never will be.

It’s the top U.S. TV preschool show among 2–5-year-olds for 2 years running and is watched in 160 countries.

A commercial and holiday juggernaut, it reaps $300 million a year in toy sales!

Most parents know exactly what I’m talking about because it calms hypermobile preschoolers for 22 minutes at a time.

But that comes at a price.

Because we parents end up having to buy a bunch of toys and accessories that come named after, and with, the key characters. (Check out this picture of my son with his digger and feel my pain.)

PAW Patrol

We may think the TV show is the product.

The show that is available on Netflix, or for free on YouTube, is just the ad.

The real product is the bunch of toys and accessories that we end up spending hundreds of dollars on.

Don't find customers for your products, find products for your customers.

Takeaway

What you initially envision as your product can so easily be just a pointer to a much bigger (and pricier) product.

Have you had to buy such toys for kids from shows such as PAW Patrol? Reply and cry!
