Experience in a box

Yesterday I talked about how a baby product potentially got its UI/UX wrong.

Let me tilt the balance today with a fine example in the same space.

For our newborn, we bought a baby product called Rest from the brand Hatch.

Check the image below to see how Hatch set the tone right, straight out of the box (literally!), as they:

  1. Reaffirmed the alignment of our problem and their mission – getting our baby to go to sleep
  2. Asked us to get in touch anytime, specifying the medium and email address, knowing that we’d need help
  3. Messaged on behalf of the CEO who’s also identified as one of us – a parent of 3
  4. Personalized it with hugs and kisses that any sleepless parent will appreciate
  5. Told us they knew us by designing the box with icons that truly depict our lives in this season

Hatch let us rest from the moment we opened the box, not just when we started to use its product.

Takeaway

UI/UX design isn’t just imagery. It combines ideation, information, and innovation.

Is your UI/UX thinking out of the box or as best as possible even inside the box, as Hatch has done? Click here and let me know.

As far as the customer is concerned, the interface is the product.
