Hug in a box
Mon, Mar 08, 2021
My last post was about how Hatch’s packaging for its baby sleeping product, Rest, left us rest assured from the onset.
But there’s more than one way to leverage packaging for your product.
Case in point, Huggies, who makes their users hold on to (and hug) the packaging long after it’s opened.
In fact, my 3-year-old won’t let us trash the Huggies Pull-Ups box.
Take a look at the inside of the box and tell me which kid in their right mind would!

Huggies has purposed the inside of its diaper box to be a cardboard surface for drawing, coloring, and learning activities.
While many brands try to keep costs to a minimum by choosing the cheapest, smallest, and simplest packaging, the truly out-of-the-box brands leverage the inside of the box to foster a deep connection with their users.
Takeaway
Have you seen any great examples of brands that fully thought of and leveraged the inside of the box? If so, write back and share them with me.
