What makes a website a wowsite
Tue, Oct 20, 2020
It’s been 3 decades since the first website went live, but most of us still have no clue what a website is really meant to do.
Websites are still like icebergs to us as their real potential and impact lie unseen beneath the surface.
That’s because most websites are:
- Built to inform, not persuade: Your website is your best chance to have a long and lovely conversation with us and to make us fall in love with you. Anything short of that wow moment is a missed opportunity!
- Just templates: If your website looks like everybody else’s with the usual sections and stock photos, you’re probably not wowing us with your unique style and story.
- Siloed from success: Websites are most fruitful when they’re fully leveraging and in full sync with your tech stack – email, conversation widgets, blog, social media, etc. – instead of being a stand-alone site.
Takeaway
- Websites shouldn’t be built just because that’s what brands are supposed to do or just to talk about your product.
- Shed the safe approach and build a bold meeting place that wows, engages, converts, and retains your prospects.
If you had no restrictions, what changes would you make to your website? Let me know.
