Monday.com madness

Monday.com is doing alright with its stock price after debuting on the stock market just this month.

But it continues to lose more money than it makes.

From 2019 to 2020, Monday.com increased its revenue from $78 million to $161 million.

However, its net loss increased from $92 million in 2019 to $152 million in 2020.

Its sales and marketing costs alone have exceeded its revenue in every quarter.

That said, Monday.com’s brand recall is significantly high.

Why?

Almost everyone I know has seen an online and TV ad for Monday.com.

Now this could be a horrible sales and marketing strategy because the only strategy here seems to be online and media advertising.

That’s not a strategy at all and is, in fact, the reason why the brand is losing more money than it makes.

Sales and marketing ain’t easy and can’t always be just bought with cash.

Takeaway

Many brands just have a two-word marketing plan – digital advertising.

That’s NOT a strategy. That’s madness.
