Cost of conversion
Thu, Jan 21, 2021
Conversion is expensive, especially if we don’t clearly understand the cost behind it.
Let’s analyze three aspects of marketing to test this theory:
1. Content Marketing
I know many blogs that started well but sputtered out to a slow death. Blogging is the simplest and cheapest form of content creation. You don’t need to spend any money to create a blog post. Yet, most blogs die soon because of the lack of a blogging strategy.
2. Social Media Advertising
Most marketing plans are just two words – Facebook Advertising – because people think you only pay when prospects click. However, it takes a lot of strategy to figure out targeting and ad type, and to optimize your landing page, pricing, and buying process before even one ad click can be successful.
3. Conversational Marketing
Drift is a great tool to convert web visitors to customers via its interactive widget on websites. However, setting it up effectively requires such a solid strategy that many rarely use it well.
Conversion is expensive and comes at a cost, especially when there’s no clear strategy.
