Yesterday, I asked if you had a ‘Careers’ tab on your website.
If you haven’t read that manna yet, please click here to check that challenge before you read further.
Today, I’m back to ask about two more tabs.
Do you have ‘About Us’ and ‘Contact Us’ tabs on your website?
Most websites do.
Well, why do you need the word ‘Us’ on those tabs?
If it’s your website, who else will it be about?
If it’s your website, who else will your prospects be trying to contact?
Won’t ‘About’ and ‘Contact’ suffice?
If you have ‘Us’ on those tabs, is it because you never thought about it? Is it because you’ve always seen it written that way on other websites?
Good marketers communicate well with words. Great marketers communicate well with half those words.
The most valuable of all talents is that of never using two words when one will do.
Takeaway
- What else on your website came from templates or common practices?
- Where else can you trim the fat of your verbiage?
- How can you say the same thing using fewer words?
