Haven Healthcare
Fri, Feb 26, 2021
What’s common to healthcare and happiness?
Money can’t buy either.
In 2018, three billionaires who own some of the biggest brands on the planet came together to revolutionize healthcare.
Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffet, and JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dixon together created Haven Healthcare, whose goals were to:
- Improve healthcare services
- Lower pharma costs
- Make primary care easier to access
- Simplify insurance benefits
However, Haven is shutting down this month, and analysts have blamed this demise on hasty goals and inexperience.
The best minds and richest resources couldn’t solve the healthcare problem because:
- They didn’t have the expertise – none of the brands or CEOs were in healthcare
- They didn’t have a plan – they were primarily exploring
- They didn’t think through their revenue goals
Thousands of brands die annually for the same reasons – no plans, revenue goals, or expertise to see it through.
Takeaway
If these guys couldn’t survive without a plan, what chance do the rest of us have?
