Colonel slogans

KFC just broke all the rules of marketing and then some more.

Since the pandemic made everyone a germaphobe, KFC’s slogan “Finger Lickin’ Good” had become a problem. Who wants to lick possible Covid-covered fingers?

So KFC launched a social media campaign “borrowing” the famous slogans of other brands and promised to return them after 48 hours.

Check the gif below to see how finger lickin’ good these new slogans look on KFC.

The hilarious take of (and on) other brand slogans caught the eye of the marketing world and drastically enhanced KFC’s visibility as well as increased conversations about which slogan would be next.

KFC explained that it had “nothing but respect” for the brands whose catchphrases it was appropriating and that the stunt was all in good fun.

The campaign, which was timed around April Fools’ Day, left us wishing it had lasted a little longer.
