Not a sales agency
Wed, Dec 30, 2020
Talking to new prospects is really the joy of my job.
Apart from getting to know people, their organizations, and their needs, I get to know what they think about marketing.
I take the extra time to tell them how we’re different from sales agencies and even other marketing agencies.
However, some prospects have signed us up and then in a few weeks acted as if they signed up a sales agency, not a marketing agency.
One past client used to call me up once in a while and say, “Kurian, we need your help for a marketing campaign.”
I’d hear out his need and say, “You mean a sales campaign, right?”
“It’s probably both,” he’d say to try and appease me.
But neither marketing nor the folks in email databases are fooled by such plans.
Asking a marketing agency to help with sales is understandable since revenue is often the ultimate goal.
But if you hire a marketing agency and mostly ask for help with sales, then what you need is not a marketing agency.
