He who has ears

Thousands of people listen to preachers.

But millions of people listened to Ravi Zacharias.

Why did millions more listen to him over preachers and teachers of the Word?

One big difference could be that he often listened to those people first.

Most of his talks were based on stories of his encounters with other people – how they asked some questions and how he responded with a message that positively challenged their notion of God.

Most of his talks also ended with Q&A sessions with the audience, anonymous questions, or even written messages from those who couldn’t make it.

Ravi was always listening.

Just like Jesus.

Either the disciples or someone in the crowd was always asking questions, and Jesus was constantly responding.

Yesterday, Ravi probably listened to the best line ever spoken, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

There's a lot of difference between listening and hearing.

G. K. Chesterton

Takeaway

  1. Are you actually listening to those you want to help and not just hearing what they’re saying?
  2. Are you willing to talk less and listen a lot more?
