Problem vs. Product

Most offerings fail for two reasons:

  1. The product isn’t marketed and/or sold well
  2. The product isn’t solving a real problem at scale

This failure happens because many entrepreneurs build products just because they can instead of building one to solve a problem that they experience in proximity.

These anti-theft bags are useless (and maybe even repelling), if considered as a product in isolation.

However, it makes perfect sense when it is visualized and combined with a sandwich, because this product is aiming to solve a problem.

Takeaway

Solve a problem instead of just building a product.

Is your brand built mostly because you could, or was it born out of a painful need to solve a problem? I’d love to know.

Sell the problem you solve. Not the product you make.
