Relation = Retention
Wed, Jul 21, 2021
This week I’ve been talking about how companies should leverage marketing to attract loyal employees.
Yesterday I shared a link to a new role for which we’re hiring.
Please consider taking a minute to read that first before you continue reading.
Today I want to focus on the real benefit of this effort by moving from the acquisition of employees to their retention.
I want to do this by also panning the spotlight away from our new hire to one of our first hires, Karishma Benjamin.
Karishma (pronounced as Charis(h)ma) has been with us from day one and is leaving this Friday on her maternity leave.
It’s been amazing to see her growth in marketing, leadership as well as support for the team, company, brand, and cause.
I’m very grateful for her and also thrilled by her growth from being led to leading others.
She has recently been very intentional about making sure we’re all set during her absence by walking us through multiple processes that she has set in place for us.
When I appreciated her earlier this month for doing all this, she simply said, “I love my job at 40P and want it to be there when I’m back.”
What more commitment can you ask for?
Any company would be blessed to have Karishma on their team.
I’m just glad that she’s not only on our team but also interested in coming back.
Too often we’re guilty of investing in marketing externally only for our prospects, but not internally for our team members.
Our employees who work hard to help us market externally, deserve our marketing attention, too.
Takeaway
Other Kurians like me, invest in your relations if you want to increase your retention.
