Come together to combat mission drift in your team and organization!
Many organizations stray from their
original mission, while few stay true to it.
Is your boat drifting or steady on course?

The book
A Christianity Today 2015 Book Award Winner
During my years as a CEO—first in the for-profit sector and later in the nonprofit sector—I’ve always found it a challenge to stay on mission.
Many of us in leadership have learned—often painfully—that our mission needs to be built into every aspect of our organization. We can’t afford not to follow the lessons in this valuable book.

President of World Vision US and author of The Hole in Our Gospel

The SESSIONS
SESSION 1
Networking & Net Learning
This cohort starts with a guided networking session of peer missional C-suite leaders. Connect and learn from one another about preventing drift and building Mission True organizations.
SESSION 2
Team Alignment & Debrief
Enjoy accountability and alignment within your core team as you invite them to evaluate your organization's missional drift. We promise that you'll frame this data dashboard on your wall!
SESSION 3
Leading From the Front
Well-led teams have the best self-led captains. Captain your boat well by equipping yourself to lead your team well and by having the right people in the right seats on your boat.
SESSION 4
Mission True v Mission Untrue
Learn the hallmarks of a Mission True organization so that you can be equipped to counter the natural course of mission drift. Develop a blueprint to protect what matters most.
Mission Drift illustrates how organizations often lose their founding principles over time, as they respond to the pressures of our secular culture and funding sensitivities.
More importantly, Mission Drift gives useful tools and applications on how we can stay Mission True for the long term, and breed excellence in application and execution as well.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The vision behind the Mission Drift cohort is two-fold.
The primary goal is to help organizations combat mission drift and become Mission True. Secondly, mission drift seems to be best combated when fought in a team setting and collaborative posture.
We believe this collective learning will be the tide that lifts organizations away from Mission Drift territory and transforms them into Mission True organizations.
Given the season we are in, we've updated the dates and timings for our sessions as shown below:
- Tue, Mar 29 at 4:00 p.m. ET
- Tue, Apr 12 at 3:00 p.m. ET
- Tue, Apr 26 at 3:00 p.m. ET
- Tue, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. ET
There are many benefits to attending the sessions—networking with other C-suite leaders, Q&A with Peter Greer who has invested so much time in understanding mission drift, and so on.
But the biggest benefit would be the team assessment functionality that we’ve rolled out. This assessment will not only help you understand your organization better but also give you and your team a tool to measure how you’re combating mission drift.
Most cohorts are knowledge-transfer sessions where people are trained by an instructor. This cohort is more of an innovation summit where innovators in the area of mission drift can meet and learn from each other.
We’re bringing together successful for-profit and non-profit CEOs who are very intentional about combating mission drift in their domains. The Mission Drift cohort is where they can learn about best practices and examples that they can go and try in their teams right away.
We’re only inviting one leader from an organization so that they can learn from leaders of other organizations. But we know that mission drift is best combated as a team, and we want you to have maximum return on investment and mission.
That’s why we have a specific team exercise you can take back to your team, which will help you assess how your organization is combating mission drift. So plan to attend alone because we have an exercise for your team anyway.
Yes, having read the book will help you understand the concept of mission drift prior to attending the cohort. Mission Drift won’t take much time to read and isn’t hard to digest. Once you register, we’ll send you a signed copy of the book to give you a headstart.
We’d love to have you join, but if you’re unable to attend, you’re always welcome to invite one of your colleagues to join. However, we recommend that the same person attend all four sessions.
You can pick either the one you’re most invested in or the one that’s impacted the most by mission drift.
The valuable learnings in this cohort will be the result of people sharing how they’ve progressively encountered and combated mission drift. This cohort is not one-on-one training but rather one person learning from 11 others.
This cohort will be more of a journey together, as we won’t be seeing the answers to all the problems on day one. We’re spreading it across two months so that we get time to reflect and come back with different aspects of mission drift and different outcomes for them.
We respect busy C-suite leaders who value their time more than money. So we’ve created this cohort in a way that you can figure out how to combat mission drift in your organization with only 4 (precious) hours of investment.
Yes, we’re planning for post-cohort follow-ups. Before the final session ends, we’ll update you on the next steps that we have in store.
The real value of this cohort is the cumulative learning that happens as a group, so we strongly recommend that you don’t miss a session. However, if you do miss a session, you’ll definitely get a recording of the session for future reference.
No, we aren’t offering any refunds unless there are some exceptional issues that we will consider on a case-by-case basis. We’re hopeful that this cohort will introduce new relationships, unlock significant value, and make your organization Mission True!
No organization is exempt from the danger of drifting away from its original mission. While competing forces entice toward subtle changes, foundational principles must be safeguarded.
In Mission Drift, Peter and Chris provide solid guidance for remaining laser-focused on core values … from the board level to daily organizational culture.
