Walker Talker

Yesterday I talked about how my pastor, Sam Chacko, rephrased the same message to make more sense.
An exponent of this dying art is Chris Walker, one of the best marketers on LinkedIn today.
Almost every marketer I know wants to be in Chris’ position today, but few would have invested in content marketing on LinkedIn as he did 5 years ago.
Heck, even today only few would invest that way – despite seeing how he reaped the fruit of his labor.
Chris walks the talk because he does 10 things right in marketing:
- He shows up (almost) daily to teach. There are no shortcuts or silver bullets in marketing.
- He didn’t give up after the 8th post because it didn’t go viral. He who laughs last, laughs!
- I can read his post in 1 minute, but it often makes me think for 2–3 minutes, share it with others for 5 minutes, and talk about it for 10+ minutes.
- He talks about only one thing, but he explains it 200+ different ways in a year.
- He picked his battle – mistaken marketing (attribution) – and made us join his side. Sometimes, having an enemy helps!
- He practices what he preaches – hypocrisy is a marketer’s biggest weakness.
- He proves what he preaches – he uses math to prove why the ROI of your conference booth is as negative as my MacBook’s COVID test result.
- There are only gems, no gimmicks – High end production, GIF, animations, etc. are great, but not mandatory to market your point.
- Having heard him so frequently, his voice is familiar, recognizable, and authoritative in my mind. When he speaks, I listen.
- He is championing change. Last week he said, “B2B marketing is broken, and I’m here to change it.”
What are you here to change?
Takeaway
THIS. IS. MARKETING.
Chris is a Walker of the Talk!
