Naming a movie is as much an art as making a movie. 

Netflix has two action thrillers that have recently been the most-watched movies in the U.S.

‘Kate’ is about Kate, a lady assassin who survives an attack on her life and gets her revenge. 

‘Beckett’ is about Beckett, a young man who survives an accident and an even bigger attack on life. 

Kate Beckett, on the other hand, is the screen name of a famous TV character played by Stana Katic in the show ‘Castle’ that hit the big screen over a decade ago.

Interestingly, ‘Castle’ is also named after the protagonist of the show, Richard Castle.

What’s the common theme here? 

Movies are brands too and always benefit from great names. 

Just naming them after the protagonist’s first name robs these movies the chance to occupy memorable positions in our hearts.

Even though it’s hard to think of great names that haven’t been used before, that’s where excellent copywriters and brand-naming professionals can get breakthrough names for movies.
