My friend Sue Warnke has a brilliant blog about the opposite of lame leadership. 

It’s called ‘Leanership’ (www.leanership.org) and it’s exactly what we have been learning from two world leaders, Vlad and Volo, as they are locked in battle.

The key difference between the two is the posture of leadership that both leaders have adopted. 

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is measuring his options, while Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky is all in. 

Vlad is often pictured seated at the end of a long table, far away from his own leaders.

Volo is leaning in and in the center of his crowd.

Vlad is leaning away from other nations and tending to go on his own.

Volo is leaning in and rallying the whole world around to fight for freedom.

Vlad is only able to get Belarus to lean in for help. 

Volo is getting foreign fighters from around the world to fly in and fight for Ukraine.

Vlad is leaning away when his troops struggle and orders the invasion to proceed.

Volo is leaning into millions of hearts and inspiring leaders and citizens to support him.
