Dare disregard design?

Last week we rolled out a demo of a new product we’re working on.

The client feedback centered around the “amazing user experience,” “wonderful design,” and “great look and feel.”

The aesthetics made them feel so good and sent them into an overdrive that they were very gracious with their feedback that some of the technology needed to be fixed.

One person commented that while the UX/UI is great, it might not even be needed for that industry.

Immediately, I politely disagreed and asked, “If a cheaper Blackberry phone gave you everything that an iPhone gave you, would you switch over to that older generation of design?”

The answer was a sheepish no.

We’re all used to the amazing level of design that Netflix, Tesla, and Apple have raised the bar to.

Those brands might not be your direct competitors.

But your standard of design will always compete with theirs since your users live in their world 24/7/365.

Takeaway

Disregard the power of great design at your own peril because how you say something is often more important than what you say.

How important is design to you? Let me know!

Everything is designed. Few things are designed well.
