The story of Abraham’s unbelievable willingness to sacrifice his own son, Isaac, is an amazing picture of sacrifice. 

If you’re not familiar with the story, a quick read of Genesis 22 will help explain why God chose Abraham to be the father of Israel and blessed him with multitudes of descendants. 

To cut the story short, an angel of the Lord stepped in at the last minute to prevent the sacrifice. 

He told Abraham that God was pleased with Abraham’s obedience and to let Isaac go, transforming that distressed Friday afternoon into a joyous restoration and celebration. 

This Fun Friday, I want to point to an alternate storyline that could’ve happened if a comma had come to Isaac’s rescue, instead of the angel. 

Without meaning any disrespect to the incident, I’m hopeful that we can see the lighter side of this sacrifice while learning the importance of clear communication and attention to detail.
