How did dinosaurs brush their teeth?
Dinosaurs are known for their short arms compared to their large bodies.
Caleb, our 5-year-old, was taking too long to brush his teeth one morning, when I told him to speed up.
“Why do I need to brush my teeth everyday?”
“So that they can remain clean and you can eat good food and become strong.”
“Dinosaurs are strong, but they don’t brush their teeth.”
“How do you know?”
“Have you seen their short arms? They can’t even scratch their chins!”
“Well, maybe that’s why they went extinct—because they didn’t brush their teeth.”
“Are you serious?”
Our prospects are irrational, because we humans are irrational.
Our comparisons are crazy, because our lenses are colored and our views are biased.
But keep the conversation going and you will have one chance to get back in the game.
Give up the conversation at the start when it gets irritating and your chance of closing that deal just went extinct.
