Copyright all rights

Yesterday, I shared a simple reminder to update your website’s copyright info.
Many websites mention © 2021 along with the phrase ‘All Rights Reserved’.
The practice of declaring ‘All Rights Reserved’ was formalized during the Buenos Aires Convention of 1910.
However, in 1952, the Universal Copyright Convention (UCC) adopted the © symbol as an indicator of protection.
The requirement to add the ‘All Rights Reserved’ notice became obsolete on Aug 23, 2000, at the Berne Convention that ruled over all prior conventions.
Yet, many websites still mention ‘All Rights Reserved’ along with the copyright notice.
It’s because we often continue traditions and practices without asking and understanding before acting on it.
This is also why we run traditional marketing plays without asking why we do it in the first place.
Takeaway
Let me know if your website still has this phrase in the footer.
