3B rule of writing
Wed, Jan 12, 2022
Ever wondered why some content is engaging while others aren’t?
One of the most frequently doled out pieces of advice in marketing is to keep things brief.
Apparently, we aren’t as patient as a goldfish these days.
But somehow, we still watch a two-hour movie on Netflix without any issue.
The truth is that people aren’t skimming through our content because it is long.
They are skimming through because it is boring.
Sure, it’s better to be brief than to be boring.
But the better option is to be so brilliant that people are forced to stop scrolling, and start engaging.
So many great podcasts and long webinars have amazing content that causes attendees to be glued to their screens.
This is because they are all brilliant pieces of content, not brief, and definitely not boring.
