Good guys

Being content is hard. We often covet the exceptional and crave for the extraordinary.

A normal brand is not needed anymore and sadly not appreciated enough either.

Caleb, my 3-year-old, is a normal kid.

He doesn’t have any extraordinary abilities or any glaring weaknesses.

By God’s grace, he’s a healthy kid who’s a creature of routine and structure, and throws no surprise or stress.

I’m sure some kids in his class (and at his level) know more words, can count more numbers, and are better in sports.

It’s fine by me as I know that he’ll pick up the needful in life in due time.

He isn’t a unicorn brand, nor does he need a debt restructure.

He just gets the job done daily, gets better with every passing day, and I couldn’t love him more.

As marketers, I feel we need to occasionally appreciate the good instead of only aspiring for the great.

For a change, can we just observe and appreciate the good guys today?

Takeaway

A brand that does well is a good brand.

Great isn’t the only level that should be talked about.

Is your brand a good brand or a great one? If it’s a good one, how appreciative are you of it? Tell me about it.

If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.
