What if I’m not a Quality Control and Content Head or interested in being one?
Good question! If you know people in your network who are in senior quality control and content roles (preferably at SaaS companies) and are Christian, please do them and us a favor by forwarding this opportunity to them.
So what does 40 Parables do?
Since 2015, 40 Parables has been a strategic MarTech firm that has helped many Christian ministries share their stories better.

In 2022, we created our first product, Bleat, an assessment platform for the missional world. Thousands of ministry and church leaders are now using assessments built by Bleat.

Sounds cool! How can I know more?
Bleat? Yes, that’s our product’s name, and the dictionary defines it as the wavering cry of a sheep. That’s why it is also the name of our assessment platform, as it helps churches evaluate themselves and know their congregations better by listening to the voices of their sheep.

Feel free to check out our website later on, when you get a chance: www.bleat.church
Our new product is just two years old, and we’ve already built 60+ assessments for clients, and things are only getting bigger faster!

That said, we need more hands!
Teamwork makes the dream work! Just look at these guys👇

That’s why we seek an experienced Quality Control and Content Lead with 10 years of experience to oversee our quality assurance, content creation, and editing. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of our assessment tools, and ensuring that all content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with our mission.
Interesting! But as a Quality Control and Content Head, what exactly will I be doing every weekday?
As a Quality Control and Content Lead, you would:

1. Implement and maintain rigorous content and quality control processes and best practices, to ensure all content meets high accuracy, clarity, and consistency standards.

2. Lead a team of content writers. Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.

3. Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to align content strategy with overall company goals. Ensure content is relevant, engaging, and effectively supports our mission.

4. A strong attention to visual design detail, coupled with the ability to evaluate and enhance designs from a user experience perspective.

5. Collaborate with internal teams to understand content requirements, gather feedback, and ensure alignment across all stakeholders.

6. Ensure all content adheres to relevant industry standards, legal requirements, and the company’s internal guidelines.

7. Regularly review and update content to reflect the latest trends and client feedback.
That sounds comprehensive. What kind of person would be equipped to be successful in this role?
We believe the right person for this role will have these qualifications:

1. 10+ years of experience in content management, quality control, or a related field, preferably in SaaS.

2. Proven track record of leading and managing content and quality control teams.

3. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

6. A functional understanding of the design basics would enhance the effectiveness of quality control.

7. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing remote teams.

7. Experience working with faith-based organisations is a plus.

7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
That sounds exciting! What will I gain and learn from this experience?
Let's start with the gains.
1. A well-compensated role: We believe a worker is worthy of his wages (1 Tim 5:18). So we’ll compensate you fairly for your capability, capacity, and career experience.
2. Time off: This role isn't your life. Your life is your life, and you need time for it. We offer sufficient time off (public holidays, vacation, and sick leave) to ensure that you’re working to live and not living to work.

3. Flexible working conditions: We’ve been remote since day one in 2015.

You can count on flexibility as your friend—as long as it’s communicated in advance, deadlines are not affected, and teammates aren’t left hanging.

However, it’s mandatory to attend our online weekly meetings and in-person internal hackathons that take place every quarter in Bengaluru.

Hope you’re willing to travel because it’s going to be fun! And of course, your travel and stay are on us, and we take great care of our people. 😊
Thanks! But most decent companies offer these basic benefits. Tell me more about the real learning benefits.
1. Great learning opportunity for someone who is interested in SaaS products, digital marketing, client servicing, etc.

2. 24/7 access to many SaaS MarTech tools we use daily (ActiveCampaign, Typeform, Mouseflow, etc.) that can help you become a smart product developer.

3. Great opportunity to work with a global team across the Atlantic as well as interact directly with our ministry partners that are helping to fulfill the Great Commission.

4. 1:1 mentoring to ensure you’re growing in your skill.

5. Upskill workshops to support you in your growth journey
6. Great opportunity to learn and showcase new skills at our internal quarterly hackathons
All that sounds good, but how will I know if I’m a good fit?
We hate jargon such as self-motivated, proactive, team player, etc. What do those terms mean, anyway? We’re intentional about adding every teammate because we can run only as fast as the slowest member of our team.
This role is a good fit only for those who can handle these 10 commandments daily:

1. We believe everything we do is unto the Lord, and we’re accountable to Him. If you don’t believe the same, we totally understand that, and thank you for reading thus far.

2. We’re far from perfect and have many shortcomings, but by God’s grace, our team has had a zero-ego policy from day one. If you can’t leave your ego at the door, it might not be worth knocking or trying to enter.
3. As innovators, our primary enemy is mediocrity. We’ll hold you (and ourselves) to the highest standard. If excellence isn’t your pal, chances are we won’t be either.

4. Iron sharpens iron daily at 40 Parables. We depend on honest, constructive, and critical feedback to refine our sabres. If you can’t handle feedback, you might not be able to handle our efforts to enter through the narrow door.
5. You’ll get to unlearn and relearn almost everything you know about product development. A posture of humility, a keen ear for listening, and an attitude of lifelong learning are mandatory for innovators like us.
That’s great! I love to learn, and I’m already learning a lot about what this role will look like. Please keep going.
6. Extreme ownership is a value that we aim to live out daily. We’re looking for people who are mindful of the big picture and can responsibly see things through entirely.
7. We always echo Nicholas Hayek’s quote: “Everything we do and the way we do everything sends a message.” That’s why we love people who pay attention to detail and have their heads in the game.

#sherlockmuch

8. We’re quick to hire those who are quick to adapt. We’re a product startup that’s growing bigger and faster! So, we expect our team to be agile and keep up. If you’re someone who prefers an easygoing job, we might make good friends but not great colleagues.
9. We’d prefer if you had decent product development experience or could pick up really, really, really (hoping you got the emphasis) fast. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been at it for 2 or 20 years; we want someone we can pass things on to, rely on, and move on.
10. We collaborate best with those who ask questions and challenge the status quo, not those who blindly take orders and follow the crowd on the broad road to mediocrity.

So,

I’m excited and would love to apply for this role. Tell me, how do I get started?
It’s simple! Here’s what the process looks like:

1. You can start by clicking this link to introduce yourself and upload your resume: Apply here

2. We will review your submission, and if we determine there's a mutual fit, we'll send you a Calendly link to schedule your first interview on Zoom. This round will focus on understanding the basics of the role, getting to know you, and assessing overall alignment.

3. The second round is a technical interview that will focus on assessing your problem-solving abilities - through a mix of case studies, questions and technical expertise - your comfort with project management tools, and a review of your project management track record.

4. If you've done well, the next step is a culture fit round. In this round, we'll explore how well you align with our company culture and assess your behavioural work style using an assessment tool—because we believe in practising what we preach!

5. The final round is an interview round with our CEO.

6. If you’ve performed well, we’ll extend an offer for you to join our team.
Great! One last thing: What does your onboarding process look like?
Great question! If hired, you will start on a 3-month probationary period. During this time, you will be paired with a team member to help you find your bearings and get you up to speed.

Here are some things to look forward to:

1. Welcome and Orientation: Your point of contact will walk you through our company's mission, values, and overall culture, set up team introductions and review important tools and the rhythm of our meetings.

2. Executive Welcome: You'll meet with the CEO for an initial conversation about the company's high-level goals and how your role fits into achieving them.

3. Your 90-day plan: You will define 30/60/90-day objectives collaboratively.

4. Ongoing Review: At the 30, 60, and 90-day marks, you'll have one-on-one check-ins to discuss your progress, tackle any challenges, and make necessary adjustments to keep you on track.
We hope that clarifies things for now. We can’t wait to hear from you and look forward to working with you to take care of our Father’s business!
