Own the morning

Did you get your free Krispy Kreme doughnut today?
Yesterday I shared about Krispy Kreme’s new offer of a free doughnut for the rest of the year if you show up with your vaccination card.
But why is this company always giving away a free doughnut?
Krispy Kreme is owned by JAB Holdings who also owns Peet’s Coffee, Caribou Coffee, Keurig, and other coffee brands.
They’re putting together a conglomerate whose real goal is to compete in the $48 billion coffee market, which is way bigger than the doughnut market.
And the way they plan to do this is by owning the morning.
Krispy Kreme’s goal is to lure you in with a free doughnut so that you’ll most likely pick up coffee.
If you turn up with your vaccination card multiple times this year, you may eventually consider having their coffee to avoid a trip to Starbucks or Dunkin’ and potentially switch allegiance.
JAB Holdings and Krispy Kreme are aiming all their sweet buds at your morning so that they can win you and your coffee plans for the day.
