Marketing myths

Here are 10 myths that COVID-19 busted for the betterment of our lives:

  1. We can only work in an office building.
  2. Work-from-home will result in wastage.
  3. Remote hiring will reduce the quality of your workforce.
  4. You need to fly across the Atlantic for a 2-hour meeting.
  5. You need to choose between a home and a career.
  6. You need to go to a school or office to study.
  7. Online purchasing will need another decade to be globally adopted.
  8. Churches have enough time to go digital.
  9. Getting people to wash their hands properly is impossible.
  10. We’re crowding because there isn’t enough space to socially distance.

When I suggest that brands stop gating valuable content and offer value abundantly and upfront, I’m often told, “That’s never going to happen or be sustainable.”

“Wait till a marketing pandemic makes you do just that!” I tell them.

Most marketers follow an outdated and formulated playbook that needs a refresh.

Test and bust every myth before it busts your marketing.

Takeaway

“Always be testing” is the mantra that marketing mavens follow religiously.
