LinkedIn’s stories
Mon, Sep 28, 2020
LinkedIn slinked in a major update to its platform by introducing its new (but actually old) feature – LinkedIn Stories.
Stories are 10-second video or photo clips (where you can add text, GIFs, emojis, etc.) that disappear in 24 hours.
Originally seen on Snapchat and later on WhatsApp, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram (where it’s now most popularly used and viewed), Stories is a surprise feature on LinkedIn.
Not because it cannot succeed, but because LinkedIn has other important problems to fix such as its:
- Inbox
- Groups
- Analytics
But LinkedIn’s new move could be because:
- Video is the future
- It levels the playing field for new users
- Consistent content creation will always be rewarded
If LinkedIn Stories aligns with your messaging, strength, format of choice, and content, it’s your story to tell.
Just don’t create stories for 3 days and expect to become a celebrity, or worse, give up after a week!
Takeaway
And if you answer the door, make those 10 seconds count!
Let me know if you’re going to tell your story on LinkedIn Stories.
