Face/Off
Thu, Sep 10, 2020
Nicholas Cage and John Travolta wouldn’t have had to do plastic surgery on their faces if the movie Face/Off was shot in 2020.
Because face masks have taken over and are even starting to become a fashion and marketing trend.
Because of #COVID19 and masks, many products/industries, such as makeup and personal grooming, are struggling to market themselves and salvage sales.
However, on the flip side, masks are also revealing more than they hide.
Smart marketers have pounced on the option to brand masks with catchy captions and in their brand’s colors.
And several high-end mask collections targeting fashionable upmarket users are also being launched.
As the world moves on to masks, the product world is now starting to catch up on this marketing opportunity of a lifetime.
COVID-19 has tragically claimed thousands of lives but marketing is not only eluding its grasp, but also increasingly making its presence felt on millions of masks.
Even if your face is behind your mask, your brand can now be the face of your mask.
Nothing begets creativity like constraints.
